Victim in Manhattan, Kansas officer-involved shooting treated in KC hospital

A victim is being treated in a Kansas City hospital after a police-involved shooting Saturday afternoon in Manhattan, Kansas.

Two deputies with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office were called around 3 p.m. after a homeowner reported their shed and garage had been damaged by gunfire, according to a release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigations. While taking the report, the deputies heard gunshots in the area and additional ones as they approached 8655 Josie Lane.

The deputies believed the gunshots were coming from the residence at 8655 Josie Lane, according to the release. They identified themselves as law enforcement and gave several commands to the shooter, the KBI release said…
