Johnson County was recently named the No. 1 wealthiest county in Kansas by financial website SmartAsset, and Sedgwick County fell considerably in the ranking compared to 2024.
The report found Johnson County has a median income of $107,261, significantly higher than Kansas’ statewide median household income of $72,639.
