Fire ‘significantly damages’ home, spreads to neighboring property in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A northeast Kansas City home suffered significant damage Monday afternoon in a house fire that spread to a neighboring property, according to the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD).

KCFD crews were called to a reported house fire near Bellefontaine Avenue and Peery Avenue at about 3:10 p.m.

When crews arrived, they reported seeing heavy smoke and fire coming from the two-story house. KCFD said the fire had spread to a neighboring property, which sits just west of the home.

Both fires were under control within an hour, according to KCFD, but the main property suffered “significant damage.”…
