Man killed, person in custody after fight turns deadly in Kansas City’s Northland

One man is dead and a person in custody Monday after shots were fired during a fight in a Kansas City’s Northland neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

Officers responding to the 7:30 a.m. shooting found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and lying in the street in the 2500 block of Northeast 78th Street, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino with the Kansas City Police Department.
