Life Recovery Church Leads Monthly Outreach to Help Homeless and Those Battling Addiction

Life Recovery Church in Kansas City is making a difference in the community by supporting individuals who are homeless or seeking help with addiction recovery. Every second Saturday of the month, members gather to provide essential assistance, including food, clothing, and personal care supplies to people in Independence and Sugar Creek.

Despite heavy rain on Valentine’s Day, the church’s outreach team continued their service without interruption. Associate Pastor Johnny Burton explained that many participants in the outreach program have personal experience with recovery. According to Burton, this background helps church members understand and empathize with those facing difficult times. He shared that the church is guided by a belief that each person has a meaningful purpose and that their mission is to bring hope and support to the community around them.

Currently, Life Recovery Church holds its meetings on North Sterling Street in Sugar Creek. However, they are working to secure funding to purchase a permanent building for their activities. To further their mission and support their goal, the church is planning a bingo night and silent auction on March 7 as a fundraising event…
