KCI reviews emergency response after bomb threat forced full evacuation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City International Airport officials are reviewing their emergency response one day after a bomb threat forced a full evacuation of the terminals and parking garage Sunday.

Authorities said the threat was not credible and airport officials say theyre pleased with how the emergency response went. Sunday’s incident was the first full-scale evacuation at KCI since the new airport opened three years ago.

Travelers left waiting for information

Traveler Chad Bloomberg said he was on one of the first planes to land after the security threat was reported. He said passengers were told over the loudspeaker that there were “some issues going on at the airport.”
