Police ID Kan. suspect accused of abandoning puppy in storage tote

WYANDOTTE COUNTY—Law enforcement investigating animal cruelty in Northeast Kansas have identified a suspect.

Tips from members of the community helped Bonner Springs Police and Animal Control Officers ID the suspect, according to a media release on Wednesday. The suspect, whose name has not been released, is facing animal abandonment charges.

On March 6, Bonner Springs Animal Control shared photos of a plastic storage tote left near the animal care center at 104 Forest Ave. The tote had been taped shut and left outside during a storm. Inside the tote was a puppy who required immediate medical attention.
