Kansas City passes $2.6 billion budget, cutting projected deficit nearly in half

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City’s new $2.6 million budget cuts a projected $100 million deficit nearly in half, while protecting core services.

The Kansas City City Council says it voted Thursday, March 26, to adopt the Fiscal Year 2026-27 spending plan, which takes effect May 1.
