Man charged in neck stabbing of Olathe choir teacher ruled incompetent; next court date set

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) — A Johnson County Judge has ruled a man incompetent after he was accused of stabbing a teacher at an Olathe park in March.

Kwan Trezvant, 27, is charged with first-degree attempted murder after court records said he used a knife to stab Jamie Trumpp in the neck while the Olathe teacher was sitting at a picnic table at Two Trails Park. Trumpp is a choir teacher at Indian Trail Middle School.

At Thursday’s court hearing, the judge accepted the competency evaluation report and found Trezvant is not currently competent to stand trial…
