MILTON, Fla. (WALA) – Dozens of people gathered for the 25th annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday, bringing together residents to honor fallen service members in an event that held special meaning for families who have lost loved ones in military service.
“I’m a Vietnam era veteran and a lot of my Vietnam era brothers didn’t come home, and we still remember them just like they weren’t dead and it means a lot to me to honor them and our other veterans,” said Daniel Powers, a Navy veteran and Veterans Memorial Foundation board member.
Bad weather moved the ceremony from Veterans Memorial Plaza to the Clyde L Gracey Community Center, where several people packed the gym to pay their respects…
