MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The biggest weather story across the Gulf Coast is now Tropical Storm Arthur, which is moving inland over northeastern Texas and Louisiana. While the center of Arthur will remain hundreds of miles west of Mobile and Pensacola, its impacts will absolutely be felt across our area through Friday.
The storm is pumping an enormous amount of tropical moisture into the northern Gulf Coast, where it is interacting with a stalled weather pattern already in place. As a result, the atmosphere over south Alabama and northwest Florida is becoming exceptionally moisture-rich, creating the potential for multiple rounds of very heavy rainfall.
