Proposal would place 300 AEDs in Escambia County to build a ‘4-minute community’ response

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A new proposal in Escambia County aims to make lifesaving equipment more accessible in a cardiac emergency.

Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger wants to create a “4-minute community” by placing 300 automated external defibrillators throughout the county.

“The goal is to be a four-minute community,” Hofberger said. “And what that means is when someone goes into cardiac arrest, we’re able to get them help within four minutes.”…
