Pensacola leaders propose paid parking restart Oct. 5 with rates up to $1.75 an hour

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Paid parking is expected to return to Downtown Pensacola in early October as construction on Palafox nears completion, with city leaders proposing new rates and expanded free-parking days.

On Tuesday, city leaders outlined changes that must be approved by the Pensacola City Council. If approved, paid parking would return Oct. 5.

Here are the rates under the proposal:

  • Sunday and Monday: Free
  • Tuesday through Thursday: $1 per hour
  • Friday until 6 p.m.: $1 per hour
  • Friday after 6 p.m.: $1.75 per hour
  • Saturday: $1.75 per hour
  • Jefferson Street Garage (Tuesday through Saturday): $1.75 per hour
