ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Escambia County will hold a cleanup day for residents in the Myrtle Grove area, according to event organizers.

According to a news release, the District 2 Myrtle Grove Southeast Neighborhood Cleanup Day is Sept. 23. That day, crew members and volunteers will visit neighborhoods in the designated area and remove a variety of debris and waste at no cost to the residents.
This includes:
- Household appliances and electronics
- Household junk and debris
- Bicycles and toys
- Old furniture and mattresses
- Barbecue grills
- Household hazardous waste such as old paint, motor oil, chemicals and batteries
- Tires, limit of 10 per household
- Yard debris like tree cuttings, branches and more
Items that will not be picked up include:
- Building materials like concrete, bricks, blocks, roofing, drywall or lumber
- Explosives or ammunition
- Auto parts
- Dirt or sod
- Vehicles or vessels
- 55-gallon drums of fluids
Only residents who live in the cleanup area can participate. All items must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on cleanup day. Those residents will receive a postcard in the mail with more information…
