PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — According to the Pensacola Police Department, Danny Contreras and two others were seen taking a UTV out for a joy ride from this parking garage in downtown Pensacola on Dec. 8.

“They discovered this UTV apparently that had the key in it, and they went for a ride in downtown Pensacola,” Pensacola Police Department Public Information Officer Mike Wood said. “They were spotted by an officer, pulled over.”

According to the arrest report, Contreras and the other two men were leaving Seville Quarter around 2:50 a.m. and walking to Contreras’s truck at the Jefferson parking garage when they spotted the UTV.

Officers stopped the three men on Tarragona Street and searched the vehicle, finding a map of Pensacola and other documents belonging to the city, the report states.

The arrest report also states Contreras admitted it was his idea to take the vehicle, and it was a “stupid decision.”

“There was no damage done to the UTV as far as I know or any property downtown, so it does say it was just a bad decision in the report, and that’s something we believe,” Wood said.
