Tuesday night fire kills 1 pet, leaves home inhabitable

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Tuesday night fire killed a family’s pet and left their mobile home destroyed, according to Chief Nick Dewhurst with the Lillian Volunteer Fire Department.

The Lillian Voluntary Fire Department responded to the 13000 block of County Road 93 at 6 p.m. on Tuesday on reports of a fire. Upon arrival, crews found that a mobile home was on fire.

According to reports, one family pet died in the fire and another one was rescued. No other injuries were reported, but officials say the home is no longer inhabitable.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
