PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — On Saturday morning, Feb. 3, drivers on the Pensacola Bay Bridge and other roadways will be sharing the road with more than 3,000 runners and walkers participating in the annual Double Bridge Run! The 15K and 5K event has persevered through a pandemic, a hurricane and bridge construction to mark its 27th anniversary! What’s the appeal?
“The double bridge race is a special race for a lot of reasons,” Jeremy Pridgeon, who has run the race multiple times since 2010, said. “It just makes for a world-class experience right there in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. Going across the 3-mile bridge as the sun comes up, it’s is just one of the best sights ever.”

From start to finish, the race is a 15K which begins in downtown Pensacola, then opens up to a course like none other. The Publix Pensacola Double Bridge Run is one of the premier 15k races in the entire country, and it also provides the runners with some of the most beautiful scenery they will ever see in a race.
