John McCollum, 63, allegedly called the hospital on Feb. 3, “angry and agitated,” because he was looking for his mother to see if she was OK, according to an arrest report from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
He called the hospital multiple times and said, “I will blow that place up,” according to the report.
One of the hospital employees who answered the phone allegedly told McCollum that his mother was safe and that he could speak with her.
That employee said McCollum called back two more times, still agitated, but he did not make any more threats toward the hospital.
