PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — The Pensacola Police Department is introducing a new K9 officer.

Police introduced Onic, a K9 officer, in a Facebook post over the weekend. The department shared that following the loss of K9 Cino in November due to a medical emergency, Officer Zach Harris has missed having a K9 partner. (Editor’s Note: See video, above, from our 2023 news report about K9 Cino.)
According to the post, the department welcomed Onic to their pack in December, and Officer Harris has been training with the 19-month-old K9 since then.

Onic has been trained in narcotics detection, tracking, and apprehension, according to the department.
