Pensacola News Journal transitioning to postal delivery

The round-the-clock online news cycle has made digital products the first choice for breaking-news, and print subscribers are increasingly engaging digitally. As such, the Pensacola News Journal will be putting renewed emphasis on the printed newspaper as a place readers can dive into local news with more impact and context, feel-good community features, sports analysis and commentary − the stories you can’t get anywhere else.

“Our print newspaper is incredibly important to us, and delivering by mail creates a more consistent delivery method that has greatly improved customer service in markets that have transitioned before us,” said Pensacola News Journal Executive Editor Lisa Nellessen Savage. “Freeing up those resources allows us to invest even more heavily in our journalism, a driving factor in the transition.”

Like many other newspaper publishers, Gannett Co. Inc., which operates more than 200 daily local newspapers including the Pensacola News Journal, has already successfully introduced the approach in dozens of markets across the country, and is expanding the initiative.
