District 1-6A
Gulf Breeze 55, Crestview 52: And exhale.
The Dolphins completed an incredible, last-second comeback thanks to the gifted shooting of Trent Peak. Trailing 52-50 with 12.1 seconds left in the game, Crestview missed a free throw. Hutson Rowe came down with the rebound, and sprinted down the court.
He eventually handed the ball off to Peak, who hit a desperation 3-pointer and drained it with two seconds left. Crestview immediately called timeout with Gulf Breeze up, 53-52.
As Crestview tried to inbound the ball, a Dolphins was fouled away from the ball, and gave the Dolphins possession. Immediately, the Bulldogs fouled again. Rowe, as clutch as ever, drained both of his free throws with 2.6 seconds left.
Another timeout was called, and after Crestview inbounded the ball, a little-more-than-half court shot went off the backboard, and Gulf Breeze came away with the victory.
No individual stats were reported from the game.
