The Orange Beach Planning Commission will hold a work session and a regular meeting on Monday, February 12, 2024. The work session starts at 3 p.m., with the regular meeting following at 4 p.m. Both meetings will be at City Hall. The meeting agenda has been released, outlining the main topics and public hearings.
A key topic is the proposed change to the Bama Bayou Planned Unit Development Master Plan. The Community Development Department is asking the City Council to cancel two cases related to this plan and several parcel PINS. If agreed, these areas will return to their original General Business (GB) zoning.
Another important topic is a proposed change to the Zoning Text about storing vehicles and other items on empty residential lots. This topic, postponed from the January 8, 2024 meeting, is also up for approval by the City Council. The change would add a new section to Article 5 of the Orange Beach Zoning Ordinance.
The agenda also includes a request to divide over 105 acres into three lots. This request is from Sawgrass Consulting LLC for The Wharf Landing LLC and Intracoastal Investments LLC. The property is on the east side of the Foley Beach Express and Brown Lane along the Intracoastal Waterway.
