Foley, Alabama, has been conducting public meetings to gather residents’ opinions for a city strategic plan. These meetings took place at various locations and were aimed at setting city priorities. Wayne Dyess, Foley’s executive director of infrastructure and development, expressed optimism about the planning process. The city is collaborating with consulting firm BerryDunn on the plan.

Residents expressed satisfaction with life in Foley, particularly public safety. However, they raised concerns about the city’s rapid growth and its effect on traffic and infrastructure. BerryDunn’s senior consultant, Karen Whichard, acknowledged the city’s significant changes. She stated that the strategic plan would provide guidelines for future preparation. The plan’s goal is to create a five-year roadmap for the city, ensuring proper resource allocation and planning.

During the meetings, participants described Foley with both concerns and compliments. The city has also been conducting a survey as part of the planning process. Initial results show that most respondents rate the quality of life in Foley as good or excellent, with many praising the city’s parks and safety.
