2 suffer injuries in Escambia County bus, tractor crash: FHP

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A man and a student were injured on Friday afternoon in a crash involving a school bus and a tractor, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on CR 164 and Wilma Road.

CRASH LOCATION:

A 47-year-old man of McDavid was driving the tractor eastbound on CR 164 in front to the school bus, which was driven by a 62-year-old woman of Century.

The tractor driver did not yield when turning left onto Wilma Road, and the bus driver went to pass the tractor in a passing zone.

The left side of the tractor collided with the school bus’ front bumper.

There were 24 students on the bus at the time of the crash. One student was taken to the hospital by ambulance to Baptist Hospital to treat their non-life-threatening injuries.

The tractor driver was airlifted to Baptist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
