Louisiana man gets 30 years for ‘brutally terrorizing’ girlfriend on Pensacola Beach trip

The Office of the State Attorney announced Friday morning that a 21-year-old Louisiana man was sentenced to 30 years in state prison after he sexually “terrorized” his 18-year-old girlfriend during a trip to Pensacola Beach in 2023.

Circuit Judge Linda Nobles sentenced Richard Tome Carbajal to three decades in Florida’s Department of Corrections after he pleaded no contest to two counts of sexual battery , false imprisonment, domestic battery by strangulation, tampering with a victim and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

The OSA’s release said Tome Carbajal and his then-girlfriend came to Pensacola Beach for a vacation on May 7, 2023, when he “brutally terrorized” her over the course of eight hours by “repeatedly battering, strangling and raping her twice.”
