Oregon-based coffee franchise Dutch Bros Coffee officially opens its first Pensacola location at 523 W. Nine Mile Road today.
The West Coast, quick-service coffee shop prepared with a day of training on Wednesday, offering free small drinks for customers over a four-hour period. Dozens of cars wound around the back parking lot, while customers unafraid of the rain opted to place their orders at the walk-up window.
The test run gave customers a taste of some of the Dutch Bros signatures that have developed a cult-following on the West Coast, like the popular Golden Eagle, a vanilla and caramel breve with a caramel drizzle.
Dutch Bros officially opens to the public Friday. To celebrate, customers can enjoy medium sized drinks for $3 all day Friday.

Dutch Bros offers a wide range of beverages to choose from, including specialty coffees, protein lattes, energy drinks, smoothies, teas, sodas and shakes.
Starting Friday, the shop will now be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Saturday, and from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
