P’Cola Bistro neighborhood diner permanently closes East Pensacola Heights location

East Pensacola Heights’ neighborhood diner P’Cola Bistro has permanently closed its doors at 3102 E. Cervantes St. However, the good news is that owners have teased that a new location is on the way.

“With dismay we make this post…. unfortunately, today was our last day operating at this location,” the restaurant wrote in an abrupt Facebook statement Sunday night. “We will be moving to another location soon till then we are still doing caterings! You can reach us at 717-379-6161 or here on our Facebook page!”

The restaurant was family-owned and operated to its core, championed by Amira Mekhal, her brother Amir George, sister-in-law Heba George, and her sons Bernard “Beman” Reyad and Leonard Reyad. The goal was to make customers feel like part of the family when they stepped inside.

The atmosphere was inspired by the family’s last restaurant in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, filled with Mekhal’s famous French toast and friendly regulars.

When opening in East Pensacola Heights in late 2023, they brought their scratch-made menu items for breakfast and lunch, and later added a dinner menu this year, including some of the family’s Egyptian specialties.
