Mississippi inmate found guilty of drug trafficking scheme orchestrated behind bars

PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A Mississippi inmate serving his second federal prison sentence for drug conspiracy was found guilty of orchestrating drug trafficking in Florida, according to the United States Department of Justice.

The USDOJ release said that Antoine D. Wilson, 41, who is a current inmate in Mississippi, was found guilty of the following drug-related charges by a federal jury:

  • Conspiracy to distribute
  • Possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine
  • Conspiracy to use a communication facility to facilitate a drug trafficking offense

According to the release, the verdict was made after law enforcement discovered that Wilson was using a contraband cell phone to orchestrate a large-scale cocaine trafficking organization in Northwest Florida from his prison cell.

Wilson is scheduled for sentencing at 9 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2025, at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola, Fla., before Honorable United States District Judge T. Kent Wetherell, II.
