There’s been another commitment flip this week.
Pine Forest’s Charleston (CJ) Floyd, a defensive back, posted on X, formerly known as Twitter on Monday, that he has changed his verbal commitment to Old Dominion University, another team in the Sun Belt Conference . Floyd was originally committed to Georgia Southern since early June.
It was initially a quick turnaround for Floyd, with the Eagles making an offer to the defensive back in April. He decommitted from Georgia Southern on Oct. 27.
“I’m thankful to have the opportunity to get recruited by Georgia Southern University but after a long talk with my family, I have decided to decommit from Georgia Southern University,” Floyd wrote on X.
And then came the post on Monday, posting his commitment to ODU.
Floyd received an official scholarship offer from the Monarchs on Aug. 1, and received his initial offer from ODU in May.
ODU is currently 4-4 (3-1 Sun Belt) on the season, entering its game at Appalachian State on Saturday on a three-game win streak. The Monarchs currently lead the Sun Belt Conference East division with Georgia Southern, though ODU topped the Eagles, 47-19, just last week.
