Cantonment man dead after Tuesday morning fiery crash on I-10

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A 62-year-old Cantonment man is dead after a fiery crash off Interstate 10 eastbound in Santa Rosa County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP reports say the crash that occurred around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 on I-10 (State Road 8) at the 39-mile marker involved one vehicle.

The SUV driven by a 62-year-old Cantonment man was headed eastbound on I-10 in the outside lane before it left the roadway, entered the south shoulder, and struck some trees in a wooded area, according to reports.

Following impact, the vehicle reportedly burst into flames.

Officials said the driver died from injuries sustained in the fiery crash.
