PPD working standoff with armed suspect in Gonzalez Court, residents urged to stay inside

The Pensacola Police Department are asking residents of Gonzalez Court to remain in their homes as their SWAT team continues to work an armed conflict Monday morning.

Department spokesperson Officer Mike Wood says a standoff began between officers and a suspect around 7 a.m. at a Gonzalez Court apartment complex.

“We have confirmed the suspect is armed,” Wood told the News Journal.

Wood did not disclose the reason behind law enforcement originally seeking the suspect.
