Neighbors call for transparency as ECUA tackles ongoing sewage issues in Ferry Pass area

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Residents in an Escambia County neighborhood say a major sewage leak over the weekend is a recurring problem on their street. The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority says more than 48,000 gallons of sewage leaked off of Wildflower Lane in Ferry Pass Sunday after a 16-inch cast iron sewer main was broken for roughly four hours. Crews were able to recover roughly 4,500 gallons and divert an additional quarter-million gallons preventing further spillage.
