Maynard’s Donut Co. was born in 2016 by Danny and Aimee DeWitt out of the foundational belief that no one is unhappy once they walk into a donut shop. When Sean Sammon and his wife, Tatyana Kolyshkina, purchased the business at 875 E. Nine Mile Road in 2021 − eventually adding a second location at 2155 W. Nine Mile Road − they continued the vision of transforming Maynard’s into a happy, slice of paradise for sweets lovers with a retro, 1940s South Florida feel.
Now, since purchasing the business in November, new owners Steve and Lisa Wright have caught on to the contagious joy that Maynard’s exudes and hope to continue the vision of their predecessors.
Even though the couple boasts 60 years of combined career experience in corporate America − it still came as no surprise to Lisa’s friends when they decided to spontaneously shift gears and buy the donut shop that Lisa’s family has frequented since it opened.
