Pensacola man sentenced as habitual felony offender: State Attorney

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man was sentenced to 20 years in prison as a habitual felony offender following an arrest in April 2024 , according to the First Judicial Circuit of Florida State Attorney.

According to a news release from State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden’s office, Honorable Judge John F. Simon sentenced Christian Isaiah Carter on Dec. 4, 2024, for fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers.

The release said the State argued during sentencing that Carter was a danger to the community, and his actions warranted severe punishment.

Judge Simon took note of Carter’s extensive criminal record and his lack of regard for the law.

Escambia County deputies attempted to stop Carter in 2024, and he fled from them at a high rate of speed. The release said Carter drove over 80 miles per hour through busy streets and intersections.
