Fan-favorite Pensacola Pan-Asian food truck, Flip-n-Yaki , has relocated after spending over three years downtown in The Garden food court .
Owner and chef Tony Banawa said that while he enjoyed his time at The Garden, it was time for him to move on, prompting him to find a new home at 8190 W. Fairfield Drive outside of Costello’s Butcher Shop .
“When I moved here (to Pensacola) in 2020 from Vegas, I was driving through The Garden all the time. I was like, ‘That’d be nice to open up something over there.’ And it was a great three years,” Banawa said. “I love the people, and the ownership was great, and the staff was great. It was just time for us to move on as far as just business decisions.”
He was already well acquainted with Costello’s owners Christie and Darren Costello, not only because of the custom blend of meat they created for his gourmet Japanese burgers, but also because of their charitable giving through their children’s free lunch program that made a big impression on Banawa.
