Escambia County could vote on $30 million plan for four new fire stations

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Escambia County commissioners could vote to fund four new fire stations in Escambia County.

The stations will be built in areas where in some cases there’s no fire station within eight miles. Escambia County may use up to $30 million of local option sales tax dollars to boost fire services in a part of District 1.

The plan calls for demolishing two existing buildings and replacing them with new fire stations. The county will also build new stations on Paradise Beach and Kingsfield Road…
