Gulf Breeze wants to add $14 to customer bills to help fund wastewater treatment expansion

GULF BREEZE, Fla. — The City of Gulf Breeze wants to add a fee of $14 per month to the bills of 94 percent of city customers to help cover the cost of expansion of the Tiger Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Mayor JB Schluter and the City Council will hold a public meeting on Monday to review financing options for the $64 million project.

“The focus will be on how to responsibly fund half of the project’s cost — $32 million in debt — through a fair and transparent rate structure,” the city says…
