20-year-old Pensacola man acquitted of murdering cousin, but still faces prison time

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 20-year-old Pensacola man was acquitted Wednesday of murdering his cousin in March 2023. However, he’s still facing potential prison time at an upcoming sentencing, as well as more unrelated charges.

A jury found Nathaniel Cunningham Jr. not guilty of second-degree murder, which came with a potential life sentence.

He had been accused of fatally shooting his 32-year-old cousin Angel Bailey — a mother of four.
