Fire officials: Person struck by lightning at Navarre Beach restaurant during storms

NAVARRE BEACH, Fla. — A person was struck by lightning at a Navarre Beach restaurant during Monday evening’s storms, according to the fire department.

Navarre Beach Fire Rescue listed out the series of incidents that emergency crews responded to around 6:30 p.m.

  • A structure fire caused by a lightning strike
  • An individual struck by lightning at a local restaurant, sustaining minor injuries due to close proximity
  • A kayaker in distress amid deteriorating weather conditions,
  • A small shipping container washed into the water, creating a navigational hazard
  • Multiple individuals trapped in elevators due to power surges and outages

No severe injuries have been reported.
