The ongoing fight over whether the Escambia Children’s Trust must pay into Escambia County’s Community Redevelopment Agency may be decided one way or another on July 10.
The Escambia Children’s Trust was approved by voters in 2020 and is responsible for allocating more than $10 million annually in property taxes to fund initiatives and services to help children and their families, especially those with the greatest need.
The Children’s Trust owes $1.185 million in tax increment revenue payments to the county – $495,000 for the 2024 tax year and $690,000 for 2021 and 2022…
