PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Farm Share will be distributing food to Florida residents in Pensacola who are food-insecure.
Alabama Tax Free Weekend: time to stock up
According to a Farm Share news release, more than 3.9 million families in Florida are food insecure. Farm Share works with local farmers to acquire and distribute produce that would normally be thrown out because of imperfections in appearance.
Farm Share distributes that food through soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, churches, and senior centers throughout Florida at no charge. Check the Farm Share website to find a nearby pantry.
Farm Share is hosting two drive-thru style food distributions:
- Epps Free Food Distribution
- Thursday, July 17, at 2202 North Pace Boulevard, in Pensacola, 9 a.m. until supplies run out
- Brownsville Free Food Distribution
- Saturday, July 19, at 3100 West De Soto Street in Pensacola, 9 a.m. until supplies run out
Residents will receive fresh produce and non-perishable canned goods while supplies last. Because this is a drive-through style event, participants must have a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed…
