Pensacola woman indicted for allegedly assisting people to file fraudulent tax returns

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola woman has been indicted in federal court for allegedly helping people file fraudulent tax returns and identity theft.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Florida, 41-year-old Khristine Harper was indicted on 20 counts of aiding or assisting in preparation of false tax return and one count of identity theft.

“An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt,” the release said.
