MILTON, Fla. (WKRG) —The City of Milton has begun the dredging phase on the Locklin Lake Restoration Project, focusing on removing silt and sediment that has accumulated over decades.

With hopes of completing this phase by the end of the year, Milton City Manager Ed Spears said dredging is critical in improving storm water flow and returning the lake to the condition it once was.
“We’ve seen the tragedies in Texas and other communities recently with flash flooding,” said Spears. “This is the purpose of Locklin Lake, to be the catch basin for all of those waters to come into one location.”
