Pensacola woman sentenced for leaving scene of deadly Escambia County crash

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola woman has been sentenced after she hit and killed a man while he was riding a scooter home in January 2024, according to the Department of Justice.

Man in Escambia County sentenced for child sexual abuse charge

Sarah Rachel Nowlin was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison with four years mandatory minimum on the charge of leaving the scene of a crash with a death.

According to the DOJ news release, Nowlin had borrowed a friends car on Jan. 26, 2024 and while she was driving west on West Nine Mile Road she hit Calvin Garlick from behind and left the scene.

Officials said Garlick was heading home from work when the crash happened in the 400 block of West Nine Mile Road.

Garlick died after the crash, with his cause of death being blunt force injuries and internal decapitation…
