PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man who had previously been convicted of felonies was sentenced to federal prison for having a gun, News 5 has learned.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Florida, 46-year-old Julius Maurice Dean was sentenced to three years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Once he is released, Dean will have three years of supervised release, according to officials.
Court records said Dean gave a false name to officers before running from them. Once he was caught, officers reportedly found a loaded, stolen gun and drugs in his possession.
