Florida man bears the brunt of law: $1,900 Smokey Bear signs land him in hot water

ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS12) — One thief thought he could outsmart Smokey Bear—and got burned trying.

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson is tipping his hat to the state’s Agricultural Law Enforcement team on July 30 for apprehending a suspect accused of stealing Smokey Bear signs from state forests and hawking them online for nearly $2,000 a piece.
