ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — WEAR News is learning that Escambia County commissioners approved a $200,000 settlement. This comes after a Century woman died in the county jail in 2021.
Alia Wardell was 20 years old when she died alone in the facility. Her family filed a lawsuit that claims Escambia County Correctional Facility was partially responsible for her death.
