Escambia County’s disabled community finds alternative transportation service unsuitable

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Escambia County’s Paratransit Services gives the disabled community a ride wherever they need to go.

Thousands of disabled people in the county rely on it to take them to and from work each day. Now, services are being scaled back from 24 hours a day as rides will end at 7 p.m. instead.

Another transportation program will be taking over at night, that being FlexTransit. But some people in the disabled community are worried it’s just not a suitable alternative to Paratransit…
