Pensacola leaders explore inland port to boost cargo traffic, economic growth

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Mayor D.C. Reeves is considering an “inland port” in Pensacola. Officials say the idea is to bring more cargo and vessel traffic to the area.

Down the line this could lead to more job opportunities and economic growth in Pensacola. City leaders discussed the plans for an inland port earlier this week.

This would be an extension of the Port of Pensacola. The plans for this new port are still in the early phases – but here’s what’s known so far…
