Escambia County EMS receives recognition for pediatric care

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Escambia County EMS has been recognized as one of the top EMS providers in Florida for pediatric readiness.

According to an Escambia County news release, the emergency medical service provider is one of seven EMS providers in the state to earn the Florida PEDReady Gold Tier recognition from the Florida Emergency Medical Services for Children State Partnership Program.

“The Florida Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Recognition Program recognizes EMS and fire rescue agencies that demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing pediatric emergency care, education, and disaster preparedness,” the release said.

Escambia County Medical Director Dr. Benjamin Abo said the honor is something they work very hard for.
